Functieomschrijving

Transportation & Administration

  • Select shipment routes, based on nature of goods shipped, transit times or security needs
  • Determine efficient cost-effective methods of moving goods from one location to another and reserve
  • Arrange delivery and storage of goods at destinations and in between
  • Calculate weight, volume and costs of goods to be moved
  • Pre-checkshippingdocumentation,such as bill of lading, packinglists, dock receipt and/or other certificates depending on shipments
  • Notifications towards VET/Phyto inspectors for incoming shipments
  • Arrange VET/Phyto inspections on site
  • Obtain and arrange cargo insuranceif required
  • Verify adherence of documentation of customs, insurance or regulatory requirements
  • Track orders from placement throughdelivery.
  • Work together with the customs department to facilitate the passage of goods through customs.
  • Recommend, arrange and verify proper packaging, labeling and coding of goods
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislations, political situations or other factors that could affect freight shipping
  • Monitor or record locations of goods in transit
  • Pay or arrange for payment of freight or insurance fees and other charges


Client management

  • Inform clients of factors like shipping options, timelines, transfers or regulations affecting shipments.
  • Collect important information from the client in order to arrange the transportation accordingly
  • Respond to clients questions and inquiries within deadlines
  • Be point of contact for the clientsand ensure backup when needed
  • Assist clients in obtaining insurance reimbursements if needed


Supplier Management

  • Negotiate shipping rates with freight carriers
  • Point of contact for the supplier in case of issues
  • Provide correct and relevant information to the supplier in orderto ensure qualitative execution of the transport
  • Follow up on qualitative execution of the work


Commercial & Invoicing

  • Prepare correct invoices for clients considering profitability
  • Ensure balance between cost quotations and real costs
  • Inform concerned parties in case of non-profitability of the project

Profiel

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • High level of oral communication: Dutch-English-French
  • Good listening skills
  • Assertive
  • Problem solver: fast and appropriate reaction to problems and timely follow up
  • Analytical abilities: analyze a situation, fact or problem by dividing it into smaller parts, identify links and provide
