Head of Eurostar Academy


In order to reinforce the Training department, we are currently recruiting a Head of Eurostar Academy. 
  • You organize training programs for Eurostar's Operating Service, (Train Management, Driving, Planning and Rostering, Supervision) and Stations managers and employees.
  • You contribute to the maintenance of Safety competencies required for Eurostar's Operating and Stations managers and employees, in close collaboration with the Central Safety department and line managers.
  • You coordinate training activities within the department to ensure a unified approach to the management of training.
  • Communicating Eurostar’s strategy to the Training team and establishing training policies are under your responsibility as well.
  • You identify and assess training needs and competencies for Operating and Stations employees in collaboration with various departments.
  • You develop and oversee the execution of an annual training plan, including language proficiency requirements.
  • You manage work accidents records for HR Rail and SNCF secondees in Belgium, as well as medical examinations.
  • You maintain accreditation as an approved training organization for railway operations safety tasks with national safety authorities.
  • You supervise the design and delivery of learning programs for safety competencies for Operating and Stations managers and employees.
  • Overseeing the creation and implementation of innovative, flexible, and customizable training schemes is part of your role.
  • You define quality standards and enhance the notoriety of the training offer to contribute to Operating and Stations performance.
  • You manage a team of 8 people spread in Brussels, Paris and London.
  • The position is based in Brussels with occasional travel on Eurostar operating markets.
  • Reporting to the Performance & Compliance Director.


  • You have a strong experience in a similar role and the ability to develop and implement a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • You come from a very standardized and highly regulated environment such as the pharmaceutical, chemistry, manufacturing or automotive industry.
  • You are an experienced people manager who has led and managed teams, ensuring their effectiveness and engagement with organizational goals.
  • As a leader, you drive change and foster a culture of continuous learning by building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and by collaborating with teams to understand their needs and aligning learning programs with business objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for conveying complex ideas, persuading stakeholders, and ensuring clear communication of learning objectives.
  • You have a good knowledge of instructional design principles to create effective and engaging learning materials. This includes e-learning, workshops, on-the-job training, and other learning methods.
  • You have an interest in technological advancements to leverage learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other technology tools to enhance the learning experience.
