Description de la fonction

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Officer (CISO) to join our IT-team located in Brussels at EQUANS, the new name of ENGIE Solutions in Belgium (department Architecture & Development).
CISO’s main task is to keep cybersecurity risks under control and to ensure IT systems are inline with internal policies and standards related to cybersecurity. The CISO steers all cybersecurity activities within the full perimeter of the organization, this includes office and industrial automation environments.
As the CISO, you must have a high level and generalist knowledge of various IT architectures to ensure cybersecurity risks are detected and appropriate actions are taken.
You must be able to, “speak the language of business” and assist the Business in taking the correct decisions in order to maintain a good balance between business opportunities and the accepted risk.
The job requires a strong background and experience in security architecture and cybersecurity related processes, along with high-level communication skills.

Key duties

You are responsible, within the full scope of the company, to:
  • organize all cybersecurity related activities
  • ensure that cybersecurity risk management processes are in place within the different activities of the various IT delivery organizations, in line with company directives and strategies
  • verify that cybersecurity risk assessments are conducted in the context of all digital-related projects
    • this verification includes: the quality of the assessment itself, establishment of business cybersecurity risk ownership, proper implementation of the mitigating controls, the formal residual risk acceptance by the owner, and the documentation of those in a central register
  • ensure compliancy with applicable policies and mandatory standards or, in case of non-compliance, facilitate the derogation process, document and monitor approved derogations
  • support the various cybersecurity stakeholders within your scope
  • organize cybersecurity awareness sessions towards the user community in close collaboration with BU and/or group level initiatives
  • ensure the proper functioning of identity and access management processes
  • ensure that the Business Entity’s Cyber and Information Assets are adequately monitored
  • design and implement a company level cybersecurity framework and selected tooling
  • detect, document, escalate and follow-up cybersecurity related incidents
  • define, deploy and monitor a yearly cybersecurity improvement program, aiming at improving the business entity’s cybersecurity maturity level, in line with the organization’s risk appetite, taking into account the company priorities. You are co-responsible, together with his Senior Business Management, for the budgeting
  • organize regular security audits within you scope
  • any other cybersecurity related activities that may be imposed or requested

You will report to the CIO.


Your profile

  • degree in Information Technology or equivalent through experience
  • at least one of the following security certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM
  • 10+ years of experience within the field of Information Technology
  • 5+ years of experience specifically within the field of Information Security Technology
  • technical/business skills:
    • general skills in various Information Systems Architectures
    • Microsoft Azure environments
    • Amazon AWS environments
    • OWASP vulnerabilities
    • Windows/Unix operating systems
    • identity and access management systems
    • security of monitoring systems
    • database systems (SQL, Oracle)
    • SAP
  • high level knowledge of commonly used programming languages (C#, Javascript, Java, PowerShell...)
    • process design skills
    • extensive Information Security process knowledge skills
  • behavioural skills:
    • collaboration and conflict resolution
    • planning, tactical and strategic management
    • communicating: translating complex technical matters into non-technical terms in order to facilitate stakeholders into making the correct decisions
    • convincing/negotiating
    • conceptual thinking
    • resilience to stress
    • taking initiative
    • decision-making
  • languages: knowledge of English, French and Dutch
