The controller is the key person the business relies on for finance related matters. This primarily relates to setting up and maintaining the structures for proper financial follow-up, interpreting the financials (story telling), and translating business decisions and trends into financial forecasts and budgets. This results in tangible added value to the business, spotting risks and opportunities on the financial side of business. The controller relies on the good work of the accountants. It goes without saying that intensive interaction with the business is absolutely required for a proper result. The team is globally organized: each controller is responsible for a segment and/or country. These activities result in a very dynamic team, taking up different challenges, close to the heart of the company and with a good balance between routine operations and ad hoc work. In this role you will be responsible for the Belgian mid-market operations and report to the Belgian lead controller.
Which tasks can you expect? - Monthly analysis of actuals & comparison with budget, forecast & previous year
- Quarterly forecast preparation: challenging, processing and translating the business input into valuable management information
- Annual budget preparation: challenging, processing and translating the business input into valuable management information
- Story-building of actuals, forecasts and budgets · Participate in business cases
- Prepare a variety of financial analyses and presentations independently, providing information to executive Management
- Participate in local and global initiatives for continuous improvement
- Team up with controllers globally
