Orionis Biosciences is a pioneering biotech company focused on revolutionizing cancer treatment through cutting-edge innovation. Founded in 2015, we’ve grown rapidly, with offices and research hubs in both Ghent (Belgium) and Boston (USA).
To strengthen our Chemical Biology team in Ghent, we’re looking for a motivated Research Scientist (PhD) with experience in molecular and cell biology.
As a Research Scientist at Orionis, you will play a key role in multiple small-molecule discovery projects, including both in-house initiatives and collaborative programs with external partners. You will oversee various aspects of these projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, such as planning, generating, analyzing and reporting results.
Profiel
To excel in this role, we’re looking for someone who brings the following experience and skills:
- A PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline. Also, young graduate PhDs are eligible for this role.
- A strong hands-on experience in molecular and cell biology techniques (cloning, cell culture, cell transfection, flow cytometry, western blotting,…).
- Preferably, you have experience in small-molecule hit discovery campaigns and/or have experience working in an industry environment.
- Experience with coordinating complex laboratory workflows is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Preferably, you also have a good knowledge of Dutch.
- A highly collaborative and organized way of working.
- Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to thrive under time-sensitive conditions.
- A proactive mindset, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a genuine passion for innovation.
- Eager to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
