No one doubts the dangers of asbestos. Since the Royal Decree of 2006, all construction workers who come into contact with asbestos are therefore required to undergo training on the handling of asbestos.
Since 1998, it has been illegal to produce, trade or reuse materials containing asbestos. Inhaling loose asbestos fibres exposes you to significant health risks. However, when asbestos is incorporated into materials that are no longer used, it does not need to be removed.
Before starting any renovation or demolition work, it is best to check how and where asbestos is incorporated. As a construction worker, it is therefore extremely important that you can recognise asbestos and asbestos-containing materials in all their forms. Only then should you proceed with asbestos remediation or asbestos removal.
This training is in English so that non-Dutch-speaking employees can also understand the importance of working safely with asbestos.
Since the Royal Decree of 2006, all construction workers who come into contact with asbestos are required to take a course on handling asbestos.
You can take the course if you are at least 18 years old or have completed your compulsory education.
