As a Senior Test & Validation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring Xenics products meet the highest performance, reliability, and safety standards. You will be responsible for defining, executing, and improving test strategies for advanced imaging systems, while mentoring junior engineers and supporting product development from prototype through industrialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Planning
- Define validation and verification plans for new products and platforms.
- Develop test protocols, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on Testing & Analysis
- Perform electrical, optical, mechanical, and environmental testing of sensors, cameras and modules.
- Automate test procedures where possible (LabVIEW, Python, etc.).
- Analyze results, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in test methodologies, tools, and infrastructure.
- Contribute to building scalable, robust validation processes to support high-volume industrialization.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D designers, project managers, quality, and operations.
- Support design reviews with test data and risk assessments.
- Provide input for design-for-testability and reliability improvements.
- Support customer-specific validation when required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree in Electronics, Physics, Optics, or related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in test engineering, validation, or reliability engineering in a high-tech environment
- Strong knowledge of test methodologies
- Hands-on experience with test automation (Python expertise needed).
- Familiarity with optical/electro-optical testing is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to get to root causes.
- Excellent communication skills; capable of writing clear technical documentation and presenting to stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
