Are you a strategic procurement professional who thrives on ownership and impact?

Do you excel at building strong supplier partnerships while driving cost efficiency and innovation?

As Senior Local Purchasing Specialist you will take full ownership of a defined portfolio of materials and services. You will develop and execute purchasing strategies that optimize cost, mitigate supply risks, and strengthen supplier performanc, while representing the company externally with professionalism and credibility. This role plays a key part in ensuring supply continuity, enabling innovation, and driving procurement excellence across the European organization.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing short- and long-term sourcing and category strategies
  • Owning the full supplier lifecycle: selection, negotiation, contracting and development
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers
  • Driving supplier performance through KPIs, audits and continuous improvement actions
  • Ensuring supply continuity through risk mitigation and second-source strategies
  • Supporting R&D and Engineering during New Product Introductions (NPI)
  • Collaborating closely with Supply Chain and internal stakeholders on forecasts and demand
  • Leading negotiations and acting as the first escalation point for supplier-related issues

Profiel

  • Min. Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Min. 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supplier management, preferably in electronics, sensors, or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and pricing strategy.
  • Experience working in international and multi-cultural environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of English required; French or German is a plus.
  • Strategic and commercial mindset: you combine strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking to drive cost optimization, negotiate effectively  and align procurement activities with long-term business objectives.
  • Ownership and driven leadership: you take full accountability for results, leads by example and mentors teams while proactively driving continuous improvement and process excellence.
  • Influential Problem Solver: you are a critical thinker with strong communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders, resolve complex challenges and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
