Join Allison Transmissions Bruges and work in an international environment with local development and production. As part of our product development team, you’ll be involved in the entire development cycle, from concept to validation, and see your design come to life thanks to close collaboration with production and quality in Bruges. You’ll also work hands-on with our test lab.
Location & Travel
? Based in Bruges
? Hybrid work: up to 2 remote days per week (after onboardingperiode)
? Limited international travel (approx. 5%)
Your impact
? Mechanical design of transmissions with a focus on conceptual work, calculations, and troubleshooting
? Close collaboration with drafting and hydraulics teams to refine and validate designs
? Direct link to production and quality in Bruges
Responsibilities
? Conceptual design for transmissions, subsystems, and components
? Perform calculations and simulations (strength, dynamics, thermal)
? Select materials and integrate drivetrain components (e.g., electric motors, hydraulics)
? Conduct design reviews and DFMEAs
? Actively participate in validation and follow up on testing activities in the test lab
? Support field issues
? Drive VAVE activities (cost/value optimization)
Profiel
Must-haves
? Master’s degree in (electro-)mechanical engineering (civil or industrial engineer)
? Recent graduates or candidates with limited experience welcome
? Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills
? Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
Nice-to-have
? Interest in drivetrains and wet clutches; automotive experience is a plus
? Experience with finite element and CFD software (e.g., Abaqus)
? Knowledge of gear design and ROMAX
? Experience with Creo (CAD) and Matlab/Simulink
? Electrification knowledge is a plus
