Our client is a Brussels-based European purchasing alliance, co-founded in 2016 by two top retail groups and expanded in 2023 to include a major third partner. They negotiate branded FMCG products-grocery, frozen, detergents, cosmetics, beverages-across multiple EU markets.
Key responsibilities of the International Purchasing Expert:
- Compile data and craft marketing presentations to support negotiation strategy.
- Help structure negotiation arguments alongside partner-company negotiators.
- Create decision-ready documentation for internal stakeholders.
- Analyse new product assortments and manage pricing data in selection tools.
- Facilitate communication with shared-service teams and country teams.
- Manage administrative duties: meeting setups, minutes, data entry during annual negotiations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects (category analysis, performance metrics, tool optimisation).
Ideal International Purchasing Expert profile:
- A bachelor's or Master's degree in international business, procurement, or agri-food.
- Fluent English and French, Dutch is a plus
- At least 3 years of experience in FMCG or Food sector
- Proactive, can-do attitude with strong communication skills.
- Exceptional organisation, attention to detail, and teamwork capability.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
