ATHORA - Investment analysis internship
Functieomschrijving
You will work as intern in investment analysis within the investment office department. The team has in scope investments on the balance sheet (govies, corporate bonds, derivatives, etc.), cash management, and fund selection/analysis for unit-linked (Branch 23) products.
For the latter, Athora find the best funds available on the market for its clients by working with the most well-known fund and largest managers such as Blackrock, Fidelity, Nordea, etc.
Depending on the needs, you will support daily operations and/or be assigned a specific project, which can be related for example to the following (non-exhaustive):
- Update cash balances, reconciliate daily cash positions
- Initiate trades for the balance sheet (bonds, forwards, futures, IRS, CCS, swaptions, etc.) within the investment framework and pre-defined limits (dv01, cs01, etc.). Follow-up with trade execution and verify the pricing obtained.
- Review processes, optimize reporting and automate recurring tasks to improve efficiency
- Review and optimize the existing performance analysis framework for external fund managers selection (funds are composed of equities, bonds, and eventual derivatives products).
- Perform investment analysis/Fund selection based on quantitative (risk/return, beta, max drawdown, sharpe ratio, etc.) and qualitative analysis (team, process, style: such as growth vs value, etc.)
- Use Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg to automate/optimize the fund analysis process
- Present your analysis to your manager in a clear and summarized way
- Support B23 operational matters
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks to help the team deal with workload (such as KYC review or other administrative tasks), and work on automating those tasks.
