- The Director Strategic Development & New Installations is a Senior Management position and reports to the General Manager.
- He* assists the General Manager in his decisions and contributes to the elaboration and implementation of the strategic objectives of the company.
- The Director Strategic Development & New Installations is responsible and accountable for the organisation and the working of his process.
- More specifically, the Director Strategic Development & New Installations would be in charge of prelicensing and licensing of regulatory and non-regulatory projects as well as developing non regulatory projects.
- The Director Strategic Development & New Installations is Line Manager for the team members attached to his process (mid-management level) and is a.o. in charge of the development and evaluation of his team members.
The Director Strategic Development & New Installations:
- ensures that the working procedures of the process are in line with the objectives of the process;
- detects and corrects the deviations between the procedures and the reality, either by updating the procedures or the way of working;
- monitors and evaluates the outcome(s) of the process;
- identifies and implements necessary improvements to the process;
- promotes a (technical) quality policy commensurate with the safety or radiation protection issues;
- promotes the consistency of the regulatory and non-regulatory activities;
- promotes the technical transparency of the regulatory requirements;
- promotes high expertise level;
- sets and monitors the objectives and priorities of his team member(s); evaluates the outcome(s) of the team;

- Education : Civil Engineer in Physics, Nuclear sciences, Mechanics, Electricity, Chemistry, Construction, Computer science, Geology or Master or PhD in : Sciences, Physics, Chemistry
- Thorough knowledge of all areas under his competence, with a multidisciplinary view
- Good team-player as a member of the management team, with a confidential role, working with an obligation to show results in order to achieve the Bel V objectives
- Meeting the requirements for a class 1 expert certification, delivered by the Scientific Council of the FANC according to art. 73 §2 of the Royal Decree of 20/07/2001, is an advantage
- Meet the requirements for a security clearance, level “secret” or « top secret » delivered by the “Autorité nationale de sûreté / Nationale veiligheidsoverheid”
- Experience: This function is accessible to candidates with a large experience (minimum 15 years) in the nuclear sector, with at least 5 years of experience on management level
- Mother tongue is Dutch or French, with excellent knowledge of the other national language Additionally, an excellent knowledge of English (reading, writing and speaking) is required
- Managerial and leadership skills: leadership and a natural authority in front of an organisation that is mainly composed of highly qualified scientific and technical staff
- Outstanding technical credibility
- Proven ability to organize and manage a matrix organisation
- A process oriented mental structure
- Excellent ability to manage emotional intelligence and motivate varied teams
- Good understanding of the needs of different generations and the ability to integrate them into the culture and functioning of the organisation
