Team Lead Crew Operations
Functieomschrijving
Allseas Engineering is a world-leading contractor in the offshore energy market.
At our office in Essen (Belgium), we manage the global crewing operations for Allseas’ fleet of offshore vessels. In simple terms: we make sure the right people get on board of our ships, anywhere in the world, at exactly the right moment.
As Team Lead Crew Operations, you will manage a team of approximately four Crew Operations Coordinators and ensure that crew logistics run smoothly. You will act as the link between vessel teams, port agents, service providers and internal departments, while supporting your team in a dynamic operational environment.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and supporting the Crew Operations team in their daily activities
- Coordinating and overseeing crew changes, including travel arrangements, visas, medical requirements and logistics
- Acting as the first escalation point for complex operational issues
- Participating in project handovers, readiness meetings and daily operational calls
- Translating operational requirements into concrete actions for your team
- Maintaining close contact with vessel management teams, port agents and service providers (e.g. helicopter operators, transport companies)
- Monitoring operational performance and ensuring compliance with internal procedures (AIMS)
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and supporting improvement initiatives
- Providing feedback on operational partners and contributing to better cooperation with external providers
Every crew change is a complex logistical puzzle involving flights, visas, transport, and coordination across multiple time zones. When plans change - which they often do in offshore operations - our team makes sure everything still runs smoothly.
Profiel
We are open to candidates from different operational or logistics backgrounds. Experience in crewing is valuable but not strictly required. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who combines strong coordination skills with leadership skills.
You likely recognize yourself in the following:
- You have leadership experience, or you are a senior professional ready to take the next step into a Team Lead role
- You have experience in complex operational or logistics environments (e.g. crewing, port operations, terminal operations, transport or marine logistics)
- You are highly organized and able to coordinate multiple moving parts at the same time
- You communicate clearly and confidently with different stakeholders
- You remain calm and decisive when situations become time-critical
- You are comfortable working in an operational environment where occasional after-hours coordination may be required
- You are occasionally willing to travel to our vessels or operational locations worldwide
