For this Geotechnical Engineer position, you will primarily operate from Antwerp, with the possibility to collaborate at their Herentals office as well.
Geotechnical Engineer
Functieomschrijving
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and advising on infrastructure projects. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with architects, project managers, contractors, and external consultants.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Performing geotechnical analyses, designs, and calculations.
- Conducting stability studies and calculations for various projects in accordance with Eurocodes and Belgian annexes.
- Designing structural elements in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry for both new construction and renovation projects.
- Utilizing advanced calculation and modeling software, including parametric modeling for complex infrastructure projects such as bridges and tunnels.
- Reviewing and validating technical plans and designs, including formwork plans, reinforcement drawings, and steel structures.
- Briefing and coordinating teams performing site and ground investigations.
- Advising on the most efficient construction methods and innovative solutions.
- Monitoring construction sites to ensure the correct application of stability studies and providing technical support as needed.
- Maintaining and further developing your expertise in geotechnics and structural design.
Profiel
We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure.
- A Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical or structural projects.
- The ambition and capability to lead a team within the geotechnical department.
- Proven team leadership skills and the ability to work fairly autonomously.
- Experience with stability calculations and structural analyses.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in infrastructure and/or civil construction projects.
- Driver’s license B and the ability to operate from Antwerp or Ghent.
- Familiarity with software such as SCIA Engineer, Revit, Tekla Structures, Robot Structural Analysis, and geotechnical software like Plaxis 2D and D-Sheet.
- Insight into project management and the overall construction process.
