Community and communications manager

EARLI supports an extensive network of international researchers across Europe and beyond.
As community manager you will be the first point of contact for our members to help them with any questions they may have. You will also be in charge of supporting our Special Interest Groups, the EARLI publications, and the EARLI Awards and Grants.
As our communications manager, you will implement our communication strategy, which extends across various platforms (website, newsletter, social media) by creating relevant content in line with EARLI’s branding and visual identity.
Community tasks will include:
- Acting as the point of contact for our members, to assist with membership inquiries.
- Supporting the Special Interests Groups (SIG’s) on their activities and communication.
- Launching calls for EARLI’s grant initiatives (E.g. JURE Mentoring Grant, EFG, E-CER, …) and EARLI awards. Do the follow up on applications.
- Serve as the primary liaison for editorial teams across our journal portfolio
Communication tasks will include:
- Implementing and updating a comprehensive communication strategy, including analytics and reporting.
- Management of all communications related to the EARLI and JURE conferences, in close collaboration with the conference manager. This includes relevant content creation for social media and designing print (flyers, posters) and branding materials (bags, nametags, notepads, …).
- Creating and sending regular newsletters, in close cooperation with the EARLI Board.
- Managing and updating the EARLI website.
- Creating relevant and attractive content for our social media channels
- Supporting the EARLI Research Stories Podcast.
- Communication support for our journals
- Occasionally video editing of key events.
Profiel
- Two years prior experience in a communications position.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Being able to work autonomously, while remaining a supportive and collaborative team member.
- An excellent planner, being able to oversee multiple tasks at the same time, while keeping an eye on deadlines.
- Eager to learn, pro-active and creative.
- Willingness to master new software quickly and easily.
- Knowledge of website management, CRM, Mailchimp and Craft is a plus.
- Knowledge of design tools (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Knowledge of video editing is a plus.
- Interest in educational research is a plus.
- Willingness to travel abroad for conferences (around once per year).
