Functieomschrijving

The Category Lead Capex will be responsible for steering the development and synchronization of category and supplier strategies related to capital expenditures and in line with the organization's objectives. Your role will involve active market analysis, networking, and the promotion of continuous improvement and best practices across the group. You will oversee contract management and budgeting, leveraging regional synergies to enhance cost-effectiveness and supply stability in Europe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Drive development and alignment of category and supplier strategies with organizational goals.
  • Together with the Senior Category Lead, engage in active market surveillance, networking, continuous improvements, and best practice sharing at group level.
  • Oversee contracts and budgets, seek regional pooling to optimize costs and supply in Europe.
  • Contribute to procurement policies and drive efficiency in procurement models.
  • Support the Senior Category Lead in maintaining and executing individual category plans according to standard CSD-process and manage strategic categories, focusing on savings, risk mitigation, and budget management.
  • Negotiate with key suppliers, establish (Framework) Agreements, including TCO, SLA's and KPI's, which you will share and communicate to internal parties.
  • Foster collaboration with organizational stakeholders and integrate procurement processes.
  • Encourage internal cooperation and information sharing within procurement levels.
  • Manage and regularly update and evaluate the supplier database, setting and reporting on performance targets
  • Adhere to procurement policy and strategize and collaborate with relevant stakeholders in terms of your Purchasing portfolio and suppliers
  • Uphold ethical practices, treat suppliers fairly, and comply with legal standards.

Profiel

The Category Lead Capex will deal with several internal and external stakeholders. To successfully navigate in this specialized domain, we look forward to meeting candidates with the following skills:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a procurement position with category management experience.
  • Interested in career growth within procurement.
  • Knowledgeable in strategic purchasing, TCO, and supplier relationships.
  • Fluent in English, Dutch, French & German languages are a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office; SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong communicator with conflict management experience.
  • Skilled in prioritization, project management, and teamwork.
  • Results-driven with analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Expert in negotiation and risk-aware contracting.
  • Collaborative, adaptable to lead or be part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Open to travel and temporary assignments across Europe and globally.
