Functieomschrijving

As a Back Office Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of key operational processes. Your mission will be to:

  • Oversee and coordinate critical transactions by issuing and reconciling deal confirmations, invoices, and settlements for a variety of activities, including OTC trades, exchanges, and brokers, while also managing sustainable contracts and emissions registries with precision.
  • Collaborate across teams by acting as a vital link between the Front Office and support functions, fostering synergy and supporting the company’s growth ambitions.
  • Ensure operational excellence by adhering to strict internal deadlines for deal confirmations and the management of late payments, upholding the highest standards of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Execute daily payment operations with diligence, ensuring full compliance with POA Electrabel regulations.
  • Maintain and secure master data in line with anti-fraud policies, ensuring the integrity and reliability of all transactional records.
  • Contribute to innovation and transformation by actively participating in business changes, leading projects such as automation, process migrations, and system upgrades, and ensuring a smooth transition to new ways of working.
  • Safeguard operations through proactive incident management, identifying and implementing action plans to secure business continuity.
  • Foster knowledge-sharing by collaborating with colleagues and leveraging your expertise to support the development of others in the team.

Profiel

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented professional with a unique blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills.

  • Fluent in French or Dutch and English, with knowledge of German considered an advantage.
  • A Master’s degree (Master I/II) in Business, Finance, Economics, or Science provides the foundation for this role, though a first professional experience in a Back Office department is equally valued.
  • Technical Proficiency: You have a solid understanding of OTC and Cleared Derivatives and the overall transaction cycle. Your proficiency with MS Office and IT systems ensures you can adapt quickly to new tools, and advanced knowledge of VBA will set you apart.

  • Problem-Solving and Innovation: Your strong analytical skills and ability to think critically enable you to identify issues and implement innovative solutions. You are rigorous in your approach and capable of driving initiatives such as automation and process optimization.

  • Organization and Attention to Detail: In a fast-paced environment, you excel at managing multiple priorities. You have a structured mindset and ensure accuracy in everything you do, from managing master data to handling daily payment operations.

  • Collaboration and Communication: You thrive in a transversal team, building strong relationships across departments such as Sales, Trading, Market Risk, and Finance. Your client-focused mindset and clear communication skills help foster productive interactions and mutual success.

  • Adaptability and Resilience: You are comfortable working under pressure in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment, remaining calm and efficient even when deadlines are tight.
