Job description

As an EU – Project Manager, your responsibilities will be diverse

Management and implementation of European projects

  • Ensure the daily implementation of EU?funded projects, in full compliance with the budget, work plan, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the execution of activities, coordinate work packages and supervise partners’ contributions.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, prepare progress reports and support the Principal Investigator with technical reporting.
  • Draft deliverables, minutes, presentations, reports and technical documentation.

Consortium coordination and stakeholder relations

  • Maintain regular communication with partners, the consortium, ESC bodies and external stakeholders.
  • Organise monthly meetings, coordination calls, events and project gatherings, in collaboration with the administrative officer.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities to strengthen scientific impact and strategic partnerships.
  • Support ESC leadership, volunteers and Principal Investigators throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Communication, dissemination and visibility

  • Develop and implement dissemination and communication strategies.
  • Design and distribute communication materials (newsletters, bulletins, social media, press, website).
  • Plan and facilitate workshops, events and dissemination activities.
  • Manage and update the project website, databases, newsletters and mailing lists.

Development of new project proposals

  • Identify relevant funding opportunities (Horizon Europe, EU4Health…).
  • Analyse calls, build consortia, coordinate the drafting and submission of competitive proposals.
  • Ensure the involvement of ESC Associations, Councils and Working Groups in project design.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle management of awarded projects.

Profile

Do you have the following skills, knowledge and qualities? Then look no further!

Technical skills and experience

  • Excellent command of English (mandatory!) and French.
  • Solid experience (minimum 5 years) in managing European projects (H2020, Horizon Europe, EU4Health).
  • Strong knowledge of EU procedures: call analysis, consortium building, proposal writing, budgeting, submission and post?award management.
  • Proven experience in coordinating work packages, managing partners and leading international consortia.
  • Knowledge of EU health policies, cardiovascular diseases, data science, digital health and emerging regulatory frameworks (e.g., AI Act).
  • Experience in communication and dissemination (web, social media, newsletters, press).
  • Strong proficiency in IT tools (MS Office, website management, online conferencing platforms).

  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and work in complex, international environments.

Education and background

  • Master’s degree in European studies, political science, international relations, public health, health policy, project management or related fields.
  • Experience in roles such as: EU Project Officer, EU Project Manager, Research Project Coordinator, Programme/Project Officer, Communication & Dissemination Officer, Programmes Advisor, EU Funding Manager.

Annual salary: €45K–€50K.
