Building and Facility Specialist

Job description

As a Building and Facility Specialist, you will organise, coordinate, and supervise the operational management of hard facilities, including electricity, HVAC, building management systems, security, plumbing, and fire prevention.
Your day to day activities and key responsibilities:
 
Technical and operational activities
  • You will oversee the technical management of the building to ensure efficient, high-quality service for internal departments and external tenants.
  • You will provide technical management and advise to the other European offices, maintaining service excellence.
  • You will manage technical issues and repairs, ensuring thorough follow-up and resolution.
  • You will update building plans and asset management records, including technical installations and space planning.
  • You will oversee security management of the building, including alarms and access control systems.
  • You will participate in the escalation process for physical security incidents.
 
Compliance and documentation
  • You will ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and specifications for all technical installations and infrastructure.
  • You will administer and monitor building management documentation, such as environmental permits, EPC, and energy audits.
  • You will contribute to the development and review of building management processes and procedures.
  • Together with Building and Facility Manager , you will participate in deciding on and monitoring the budget for hard facility services, ensuring compliance with allocated resources.
 
Maintenance and supplier coordination
  • You will plan and supervise maintenance work, inspections, and tests, in collaboration with external suppliers.
  • You will maintain relationships with external stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure a safe, healthy work environment.

Profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in engineering or a Bachelor’s degree with proven experience in hard facilities or in a similar role.
  • You have strong experience in building management systems and advanced IT skills relevant to facility management.
  • You are eager to learn and to keep up with new technologies and developments in facility management to continuously optimise your knowledge.
  • You have an analytical mindset and demonstrate accuracy and precision in your work.
  • You show a customer-focused approach, with the ability to guide stakeholders to effective solutions and deliver personalised service.
  • You handle your tasks autonomously and with a high level of professionalism.
  • You are a team player and shows respect for diversity.
  • You adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • You can work with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset.
  • You have good interpersonal skills, and you have good communication skills in Dutch, French, and English.
