We are looking for a
Chief Operations Officer for our Offshore business unit in Hoboken.
As Chief Operations Officer, you monitor the operational activities of the projects within the entire Hoboken scope - multitechnics in close cooperation with the Business Unit Manager. In this, you actively contribute to the formulation and implementation of the division's operational strategy within the overall strategy and long-term objectives of Equans. You lead and support the various project teams in achieving their project objectives and you guide the department managers in their daily operational and reporting responsibilities.
You mainly work with the department managers, contract managers and Business Controller. In addition, you manage the operational support/administrative services and work on their operational efficiency.
Details of the job:- operational responsibilities: with the department managers, the project managers and the operational support managers, you follow up on the parameters regarding:
- HSE: you set an example in terms of safety culture and share responsibility for respecting safety processes and procedures at all times
- financial monitoring: you guarantee continuous and correct financial monitoring of the various projects. You closely follow the monthly project meetings with the business controller, project manager and department manager and make adjustments where necessary
- contractual follow-up: you have a thorough insight into the contractual requirements and risks. If necessary and in consultation with the project managers, department managers and Contract Manager, you participate in contractual discussions with the client/suppliers/subcontractors
- monitoring the planning/progress of the various projects: you have an overall view of the current and future planning of the projects, make adjustments where necessary and ensure the efficient management of the available resources with the project managers and department managers
- in terms of operational project management, you ensure that a uniform process exists across the entire division, which is continuously monitored and adjusted where necessary
- commercial responsibilities:
- you develop and maintain good relationships with key customers, clients, partners and stakeholders, especially from the operational point of view
- you regularly consult at divisional level with the sales organisation regarding the strategy and tendering process for the projects
- you validate the pricing for the different projects together with the operational teams
- managing the non-operational, support activities in the division: dispatching, logistics management, administrative management:
- you ensure the smooth operation of these support services
- you actively work on the Operational Excellence of these services: you analyse internal operational processes and identify areas for improvement
- team management:
- management of the department managers (direct reports on operational activities)
- management of the team of supporting, non-operational services (dispatching, logistics management, administration)
You will report to the Business Unit Manager.
