The Department Specialized Nuclear Services (SNS) is part of the Division ‘Energy Transition & Integrated Solutions’ and operates within the Industry Segment of EQUANS BeLux (former ENGIE Solutions). The Department comprises three Sections: Proximity, Nuclear Contracting and Design, Engineering & (Fuel) Solutions.
Together they generate a turnover of €35M with a staff of 400 people. Their mission is to deliver total solutions to the nuclear sector including onsite technical services & material handling, nuclear logistics, characterization, decontamination & dismantling projects, design & build of nuclear packaging and tooling, and various expertise in specific nuclear domains.

For the Section Design Engineering and Solutions, located in Dessel, EQUANS is looking for a CAD Designer.
In this role, you participate in the technical and management aspects of our projects, in close collaboration with the other project engineers.
You report directly to the Project Manager.

- you design equipment related to a specific project during its engineering phase
- it enables the execution phase of the project to be performed in the most effective way in terms of customer, technical and HSEQ targets requirements
- you care for the continuous technical innovations that characterize the organization, and you come up with concepts for new machines or equipment
- you work closely with other project engineers, procurement …
- you follow up on subcontractors with the Project Manager and analyse on a technical level their offers and technical progress
- you maintain good relationship with the clients to ensure a good course of the project
- you work within a team of engineers related to the project and ensure a positive work atmosphere
- you make recommendations to the Project Manager to improve the overall functioning of the organization
- you identify technical bottlenecks and adjust these
- successful design for you not only means that the design is technically successful, you realize it at a realistic cost and an excellent quality

Profile

- a bachelor or master’s degree in mechanics
- a relevant first experience (nuclear environment is a plus)
- good knowledge of mechanical concepts (and applications within the nuclear sector are a plus)
- general knowledge of some of the fields concerned: nuclear, radioprotection, chemistry, electricity, electromechanics, automation, hydraulics
- good knowledge of Solidworks of Inventor
- good affinity with IT and office tools
- be able to work well in an environment where several projects are taking place at the same time
- good interpersonal skills, rigorous and good organizational skills
- performance and result orientation
- fluency in Dutch or French and English (German is a plus)
