Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality balance sheet reconciliations in line with the company's Blackline framework.
- Review and approve reconciliations within the defined deadlines, ensuring full compliance with internal standards.
- Monitor monthly reconciliations between the inventory management system and the SAP financial accounting system.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of all movements related to intercompany and trade entities.
- Actively participate in monthly and quarterly closing meetings with local finance teams and contribute to consolidated reporting.
- Execute all month-end and quarter-end closing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure that all required internal controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) controls are completed on time, safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of key financial data.
- Implement, follow up and report on action plans resulting from internal audits or SOX testing.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during audits and review processes.
- Monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement
- Propose and support process improvement initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and alignment with internal control frameworks.
- Contribute to the enhancement of financial processes, strengthening efficiency, accuracy and compliance across the organisation.
Projects
- Lead or participate in project teams to support the rollout of new business processes or system integrations, providing expert knowledge within your domain.
- Support reporting activities related to international trade where applicable.
A successful Financial Inventory and Closing Reviewer should have:
- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial reporting and inventory management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of financial regulations within the life science industry.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with various teams.
