General Accountant
Job description
As a General Accountant you will join the dynamic and international finance team of our client at the headquarters in Mechelen. You will get an overview of the entire accounting process and receive the chance to expand your skills by learning more about the international processes.
Your responsibilities as a General Accountant:
- Managing balance sheet and profit & loss
- Consolidating and reconciling accounts
- Supporting accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing
- Supporting the preparation of VAT/CIT declarations and statistical reporting
- Providing monthly reports and analysis for other departments
- Supporting with internal and external audits
- Doing accounts payable, bank statements and payments
- Managing vendor accounts
Profile
The General Accountant we are looking for has:
- A degree in Accounting (or related)
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a general accounting role
- Strong communication skills in English (Business Proficiency)
- Knowledge of accounting principles such as Belgian GAAP and eager to learn more
- Preferably knowledge of VAT/CIT principles and non-deductible costs
- An analytical mindset and a high levels of ownership
- Detail oriented and good Excel knowledge
