Engineering Manager | Sustainable Energetic Solutions

In this role, you guide engineers through ambitious thermal and industrial challenges while developing tools and ways of working that make a real difference. You grow your expertise, influence the technical direction of major projects and collaborate closely with colleagues across Equans.

Your work location: fixed site or project scope depending on assignment
Your Equans base: Fleurus (Charleroi), Grimbergen (Brussels) or Ans (Liège)

• ensure the quality and efficiency of engineering deliverables in tenders and projects
• harmonise and synchronise collaboration between different engineering disciplines
• manage a team of engineers through people management, team development and resource planning
• continuously improve engineering practices, tools, procedures and internal standards
• guide the team towards more integrated and AI-driven engineering methods
• support commercial efforts by representing the department to customers and promoting smart technical solutions
• contribute to contractual aspects by ensuring specifications and performance criteria are achievable and clearly defined
• analyse complex tender requests, define a game plan and allocate the right resources to achieve high-quality results with minimal cost
• lead large teams of design engineers, motivate them and define a shared vision
• ensure all health and safety aspects are integrated into engineering work and continuously improved
• convince customers of the added value delivered by Equans solutions
• guarantee respect of the allocated budget

• a master’s degree in engineering
• experience of 5 years in thermal processes (in Waste-to-Energy is an advantage)
• experience of 10 years working in a project-driven ( industrial environment is preferred)
• experience in EPC projects
• broad multi-technical knowledge (civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, thermal design including heat exchange or Rankine cycles, etc.)
• solid understanding of QA, ISO 9001 and CE certification
• understanding of public procurement processes in Belgium and France
• good knowledge of contemporary management methods, tools and reporting
• financial insight related to projects and cost centers
• strong contractual awareness and risk-management skills
