This course compares the most important characteristics of the Oracle database system with Db2. The most important Oracle specifics are discussed in detail. At the end of this course, the participant will have a thorough overview of the most significant differences between Oracle and Db2.

At the end of this course:

• the Db2 DBA understands the structure of the Oracle system;
• the Db2 DBA has an insight into the logical and physical object structure of Oracle - and has an idea of ??the differences between both systems;
• the Db2 specialist has an idea of ??the tools and utilities available in Oracle;
• the Db2 specialist understands the difference between Db2 and Oracle locking behavior;
