Our client is active in drive systems and is located in Bilzen. The company’s headquarters are based in the United States, where you will travel to on a regular basis. A short training period (several weeks) will also take place there.

Description de la fonction

For our client in the Bilzen region, we are looking through this vacancy for a Technical Sales Engineer for an international company specializing in drive systems. In this technical-commercial role, you will support customers and distributors with the application of drive systems in machines.

You combine technical expertise, customer interaction, and project follow-up, and work closely with colleagues across Europe and with the headquarters in the United States. Your responsibilities consist of three main pillars:

Sales & Business Development

  • Identifying new opportunities with customers (primarily machine builders).
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Collaborating with customers’ R&D teams to define technical solutions and integrations.
  • Guiding projects from the initial concept phase through to SOP (Start of Production).
  • Actively monitoring market trends and opportunities across different European markets.

Technical Support & Applications

  • Providing technical advice on electric drive systems for machines (including applications in garden equipment, industrial cleaning machines, etc.).
  • Supporting customers in the selection and integration of drive systems.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams in Europe and the United States.
  • Analyzing and reporting test results (including torque and temperature measurements).

Service & Distribution

  • Supporting the network of repair centers and service partners.
  • Organizing technical training sessions and customer visits abroad.
  • Contributing to the development and market introduction of electronic products under the company’s own brand.

Profil

For this Technical Sales Engineer position, we are looking for someone with a technical background combined with the right commercial mindset. The role also involves a significant number of customer visits abroad, so you should be open to international travel.

Your profile looks as follows:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanics or equivalent through experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, transmissions and/or drive systems, with a strong interest in further developing this expertise.
  • You can quickly understand and apply technical concepts.
  • Commercial mindset and the confidence to ask the right questions when speaking with customers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; you can adapt easily to different stakeholders and cultures.
  • English is the working language; additional languages are a plus.
  • You are open to international customer visits and travelling (approximately 30–40% of the time).
  • You are able to follow up projects independently and collaborate with international teams.
  • Experience in a B2B environment is a strong plus.
