Hotel Maintenance Technician (3 days/week)

Citybox Hotels is a small hotel chain from Norway, with ambitions to increase our portfolio and become one of the leading hotel chains in the budget segment in Europe.

We are currently operating 9 hotels – incl one hotel in Antwerp, Belgium. . Our headquarter is situated in beautiful Bergen, Norway. To achieve our aims, we need several fun (and talented) people on our team, in addition to someone who has the same ambitious mindset and attitude as us!

In Norway, we were the first hotel chain to remove the traditional reception, throw out the TVs, and burn up the minibars (but do not take our word for that last part, we have a big focus on safety and environmental sustainability). Our guests travel a lot and often, and they prefer low prices and modern rooms, compared to paying more for services and extras that are not needed.

But, enough about us and back to the brilliant person we are looking for.

Citybox Hotels Belgium is looking for a reliable and hands-on technician to join our team at Citybox Brussels. 
This is a part-time position (3 days per week), with the possibility to add extra days when needed. You will report directly to Hotel Manager in Citybox Brussels. 
During holiday periods, the caretaker must be able to support our Citybox Antwerp hotel as well. That’s why a personal vehicle is required, as the position involves moving between locations and handling technical tasks independently. 
 
Your role 
You ensure that the hotel is safe, clean, functional, and well maintained at all times. 
Main responsibilities: 

• Preventive and emergency maintenance in rooms and public areas 
• Basic technical repairs (fixtures, appliances, installations) 
• Identifying wear, damage, or safety issues and acting accordingly 
• Fire safety checks  
• Waste management and environmental station supervision 
• Outdoor cleaning and general upkeep 
• Ordering small technical supplies and room fixtures 
• Contact person in case of technical emergencies outside office hours 
• Ad hoc technical support when needed 

Your profile 

• Independent, reliable, proactive and solution-oriented 
• Practical technical insight (plumbing, building maintenance, or similar is a plus) 
• Able to work efficiently, even in a dynamic environment 
• Organized and proactive – you see what needs to be done 
• Comfortable using a PC and basic Office tools 
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude with the team and suppliers 
• You identify with Citybox values: Honest, Playful, Inclusive, Disruptive & Supportive 
• You speak English and French
