Service Engineer
Job description
The job description for this position as Service Engineer:
- You will do the start-up of the machines.
- You provide electrical and software support during and after installation of the machine at the customer's premises.
- You handle all problems that are electrical or software related and you provide technical support to the Service Engineers.
- You handle telephone and written service questions from the customer and you analyse the problem through efficient questioning.
- You try to help the customer as much as possible from a distance so that (expensive) physical travel is avoided as much as possible.
- You carry out online fault diagnostics and make adjustments via remote control.
- Occasionally, you will also be sent to the customer to solve complex software problems on site or to assist the Service Technicians during peak periods.
- You prepare service reports that serve as the basis for invoicing but also as input for the R&D department.
- In the longer term, you will organise and give demos in-house to potential customers.
Profile
What are the qualifications for this position as Service Engineer:
- You have a Master's degree in electromechanics, specialising in Automation.
- You are strong in software, PLC programming and frequency controls and obviously fluently familiar with current Microsoft Office packages.
- You enjoy providing technical support to customers, solving their problems and helping them get the most out of their machine.
- You are stress-resistant, problem-solving-oriented and have a hands-on mentality.
- You are bitten by technology, work independently, professional and service-oriented.
- You have extensive language skills and are willing to develop these further (you will be able to speak French and English regularly).
- Moreover, you enjoy the occasional opportunity to assist customers on site; short trips abroad are therefore no problem for you.
