lab and operations manager
Job description
We are looking for a full-time motivated and hands-on Laboratory Operations Manager. You will be responsible for managing our whole laboratory in all its facets. Your primary goal will be to ensure that the laboratory is well organized and efficient. You will also actively support the team's R&D activities.
Our lab consists of several sections: A wet chemistry lab, equipped with Schlenk lines for air-free syntheses, an organic chemistry section, purification facilities and space for cleaning glassware, A formulation lab for quantum dot ink development and formulation, including deposition and characterization equipment, Characterization lab, incl. UV-Vis-NIR absorption & emission spectrometers, TGA, rheometer, etc.
Your responsibilities will include: Organizing and maintaining laboratory infrastructure and consumables, Ensuring safe and efficient lab operations, Operating, maintaining, and calibrating scientific equipment, Performing routine chemical syntheses and formulation experiments, Conducting routine measurements and processing the gathered data, Supporting researchers in experimental setup and workflow optimization, Prior experience as a lab manager is not a necessity for this role. Profile
Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, lab technology, (chemical) engineering, or equivalent, Work permit in Belgium, Experience working in a chemical lab, Experience in operating and maintaining scientific equipment and processing the gathered data, Full proficiency in English and Dutch, A talent for organization, Open to working in a small team and flexible environment.
Beneficial skills: Experience in an industrial R&D/production environment, Hands-on experience with electronics and/or 3D printing
