Intern Event Management

Start it X and Start it @KBC is a community, originated to support and boost innovative entrepreneurship. We are very founder centric. If you want to have an impact on the life of entrepreneurs, here it is. One of the most important things an entrepreneur must do, but which is the hardest to do, is build a network. We help them to do just that. Connecting the dots, having and using a broad network of your own, are big pluses.

Our main stakeholders are our startups and partners. We have offerings for both of them. For startups, we ensure that they grow as fast as possible and reduce (learning) time in doing so. For corporates, we help reduce the cost and time to innovate. Start it @KBC is the biggest startup community in Belgium, part of the international (invitation only) GAN. Start it X and Start it @KBC is constantly reshaping, expanding and improving its offering in co-creation with the startups. The community has hubs in Antwerp, Ghent, Hasselt, Leuven, Kortrijk, Brussels, Liège, Budapest, Gyor, Prague and a ‘pied à terre’ in New York and San Francisco, and is firmly committed to further internationalization in Europe and the United States.

For one of our business lines, Start it Accelerate, we are looking for an intern with Event management skills.
We are happy to work out an internship/project in consultation with the student and in line with the company's needs.

Skills & Requirements

• Strong organizational and time management skills 
• Ideally has worked in an environment of supporting small teams, with plenty of autonomy
• Preference for candidates who are happy to create processes from scratch and can offer suggestions to improve our model 
• You are adaptable to change - as a ‘startup like’ organization that is still learning, we change often
• Ideally fluent in Dutch and English
• Happy to travel within Belgium - we operate 6 locations in Belgium. When we can run off-line events and meetings we go to wherever others in the team need back-up, and once a month we meet in a different one of our hubs for the team meeting.

Supporting others in the team and the startups
As we said, we are a small team. This means that when we host events, we all pitch in. You might be asked on occasion to join in with other things going on, not in this job description.
