We are looking for an experienced, passionate and committed IT Technology Engineer (Java / .NET) for the Manufacturing Operations Management team.
This team supports the manufacturing activities within the Atlas Copco Compressor Product Companies and, in that capacity, is responsible for the successful rollout of the new MOMS and Smart factory, as well as the application management of various manufacturing related systems within the Demand-to-Supply end-to-end process.
The MOM team is part of CT-IS (Compressor Technique - Information Services), which delivers services to the Compressor Technique business area of Atlas Copco. The department operates from the Compressor Technique headquarter, which is located in Antwerp, Belgium, also known as Airpower. CT-IS was founded in 2003 and employs about 60 people.
You will provide technical expertise for 2 domains:
1. Manufacturing Operations Management System
This Java platform is being implemented at Airpower between 2016 and 2019. It contains a Manufacturing Executions System and a Warehouse Management System.
As an experienced Java SE software engineer, you will be responsible for the design, build, validation, implementation and aftercare of the MOMS Java system. You will provide the required technical and architectural Java documentation.
After project go-live, you will provide MOMS Java second line support according the Support Level Agreement defined for of this Business Critical MOMS. You will provide the required Java support documentation of the MOMS system.
2. Smart Factory
Smart factory is a newly introduced concept at Airpower. Our goal is to implement an IoT environment for our manufacturing shops, connecting machinery and tooling.
You will liaise with other CT-IS teams to create a uniform, sustainable back-end environment that will serve our manufacturing customers, but also other, non-manufacturing operations within Airpower. Towards our manufacturing customers, a front-end environment will need to set-up. To build these environments, you will use your current technical expertise but also investigate new IoT technologies.
·You have the capability to understand business needs, to question them and to translate them into technical specifications for effective IT solutions.
·You make effort (and cost) estimations for the development of new requirements
·You perform the developments of approved requirements
·You guarantee an excellent application architecture
·You make proposals to improve legacy applications and migrate them to the latest technologies as defined in Atlas Copco guidelines
·You assist in data migrations of existing applications.
·You make technical application documentation, release notes and other documentation available that will facilitate the aftercare of the application.
·You organize handover to the support team at the end of a project.
·You interact with software developers, external partners, internal customers and functional teams
·You participate in system maintenance activities (e.g. server patches, failover tests)
·You will provide support call follow-up, including coordination with different parties who are responsible for components of the application.
·You manage issues and change requests and will take care of the appropriate escalation when needed.
You report to the Manufacturing Operations Management Competence Center Team Leader within Compressor Technique Information Services.
·The candidate has a Master degree in ICT, or equivalent through experience.
·A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in object oriented development with Java SE is a requirement.
·Broad overall experience with .NET and SQL and related frameworks and components is required.
·Strong technical analysis skills and experience are required.
·Functional analysis skills and experience (Use cases, UML) is an asset.
·Knowledge of the following technologies is an asset:
oBPCS / Iseries
oAzure Iot Hub / Event Hub / MQTT, DDS, OPC-UA
oData lakes, big data / data science
oHadoop / Spark / HDInsight / Matlab / R
·Knowledge of discrete manufacturing, logistics and/or warehousing is an asset.
