In today’s society, health has become more and more a societal challenge with important economic dimensions. Leuven Health Technology Centre (L-HTC) envisions developing technology focusing on healthy as well as (chronically) ill people covering prevention/diagnosis/treatment/rehabilitation in relation to maintaining or restoring mobility. KU Leuven and UZ Leuven are at the forefront in healthcare in Europe and L-HTC has the ambition to further strengthen this position by integrating and exploiting the unique expertises of its partners in medicine, movement and rehabilitation sciences and (bio)engineering technology in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
The lndustrial Research Fund (lOF) of KU Leuven forms a bridge between strategic basic research, technological innovations and industrial collaborations. Based on cooperations with KU Leuven research groups, the University Hospital and different stakeholders from industry and society, we aim to broaden our valorization portfolio and to increase the transfer of knowledge to the market. We have a team of more than 30 experienced innovation managers involved in the development of practical and innovative technological solutions based on expertise and infrastructure of the research groups within KU Leuven/UZ Leuven.
