The lndustrial Research Fund (lOF) of KU Leuven forms a bridge between strategic basic research, technological innovations and industrial collaborations. Based on cooperations with KU Leuven research groups, the University Hospital and different stakeholders from industry and society, we aim to broaden our valorization portfolio and to increase the transfer of knowledge. We have a team of more than 30 experienced innovation managers involved in the development of practical and innovative technological solutions based on the expertise and infrastructure of the research groups within KU Leuven/UZ Leuven.
We are looking for a business developer to initiate, develop and support the valorisation strategy around the KUL-STEM platform of the Stem Cell Institute Leuven (SCIL). The KUL-STEM platform is a unique and continuously up to date (stem) cell technology platform to create (in collaboration with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, academia, or in European networks) drug-screening platforms with patient specific stem cell derived neural and hepatocyte target cell populations, for therapeutic drug development screens and drug toxicity counter screens. A robotic stem cell and high content imaging platform is currently being tested and validated to create 96-384 well plate format stem cell models, organoid models, small molecule screening schemes for drug toxicity, and/or with phenotypic high content imaging readouts.
