The Project Coordinator provides oversight and coordination of the Compound Security Upgrade (CSU) project.
Oversight of CSU contractor
Ensures that work is performed in accordance with the contract and ensures that specialists from the Overseas Building Operations (OBO) are scheduled to review the work at the necessary times. Monitors the implementation of contractor’s quality control, safety, and environmental controls programs to ensure that work is delivered safely in accordance with the terms of the contract.
Administrative responsibilities related to OBO field office
Responsible for management of OBO field office to include procurement, finance, reporting, documentation and records management, and construction contract administration.
Coordination of CSU project with Post
Responsible for coordination of CSU project with post to include regular meetings with Post management officials and additional meetings as required. Maintain schedule of critical construction activities that will affect Post operations and ensure that all affected parties are aware of those activities and that plans are being developed to mitigate the impact to the extent possible.
The Project Coordinator must be a U.S. citizen since this is a sensitive position which requires Secret clearance.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience working in a Department of State construction field office in the area of construction controls.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of the processes for monitoring a construction project, controlling funding expenditures, and coordinating interactions between the contractor and mission employees.
LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Fluency with MS Project. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in a dusty/noisy environment with frequent distractions.
