Process Engineer

Job description

  • Responsibilities and tasks
  • You are part of a team that develops further basic and detailed project process design, starting from a process design package (PDP) delivered by the Ecophos PDP Team.
  • As a process engineer you use the PDP to develop a set of P&IDs, you calculate, size and specify plant process and utility equipment and you provide this information in the form of equipment data sheets for reactors, vessels, silos, pumps, conveyers, filtration systems, scrubbers, etc.
  • You take an active role in safety and environmental assessment studies (e.g. HAZOP).
  • You are frequently in contact with the PDP team as well as the project execution and business development teams, providing them with correct information and your technical expertise. You handle their requests and when applicable you deliver support on site, assisting them during start-ups and performance tests.
  • You foster a positive team environment and maintain effective communication with colleagues. You are always eager to share information and to learn from colleagues.
  • You are based at Lummen, visit the headquarter at Louvain-la-Neuve on a regular basis and are open to travel to worldwide facilities. You report to the Engineering Site Manager.


Your skills
  • You have a Master’s degree in engineering (chemical, industrial, bioscience) and you have several years of experience in a process or operations-related role within an industrial environment.
  • You want to broaden your knowledge in the process industry and you are motivated by learning, solving problems and by working intensely together with different people.
  • You have strong analytical skills, are able to study data, to identify problems and to draw logical conclusions.
  • You are accurate, quality-minded and you easily keep an overview.
  • You communicate fluently with colleagues and internal stakeholders and you are motivated to work in an international environment. You have excellent communication skills in English (written & oral); knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
  • You are prepared to schedule international travels, according to project needs.
