Media and Communications Senior Officer ENG/FR

Job description

The Media and Communication Senior Officer will report directly to the Secretary General and will manage the different media communication and support the Secretary General in his mission of spokesman. She/he will be able to develop and implement plans to engage target audiences, interact with the public and the press and engage productive relationships with key stakeholders. Finally, the incumbent also assesses and advices on medium to long term communication needs and strategy in line with company’s overall strategic objectives.

Company's communication :

  • Develop and implement company’s overall communication’s strategy, including the organisation of potential events
  • Identify target audiences and develop strategies to effectively engage with them
  • Prepare and assist the Secretary General in addressing journalist requests, interviews or other communication aspects
  • Develop company’s visual identity 
  • Organise the distribution of communication materials 
  • Develop and implement a style guide for all external, and possibly internal, communications materials
  • Identify relevant external fora’s and events to promote company’s expertise 
  • Collaborate with, and advise, the team in charge of product distribution and client support
  • Offer advice and support in the area of communication to staff members as required
  • Manage company’s relationship with its communication consultant(s)

Media communication :

  • Develop, implement and evaluate company’s media strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists
  • Draft and organizes the distribution of press statements to key stakeholders
  • Develop Q&As, key messages and briefings to support key publications
  • Monitor daily media, produce media coverage reports and advise on follow-up as needed

Online communication :

  • Maintain company’s website information
  • Analyses and review company’s web communication and web design
  • Manage communication on potential new communication tools or channels (Twitter, linkedIn…)
  • Develop online communication materials as required


Qualifications and experience :

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Communication, Media, Public Relations

  • At least 5 years of proven experience as communications specialist 

  • Previous experience in media relations and a track record in securing media coverage

  • Experience in online communications, including developing online content and maintaining websites

  • Experience in an international environment or experience in interacting with an international base of stakeholders

  • Experience with well-known web content management systems (e.g. Wordpress, Modx – nice to have)

  • Previous experience in the financial sector or a similar sector would be an asset

Skills :

  • Demonstrated copywriting skills

  • Ability to translate complex concepts into simple, clear and concise messages

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and adapt the communication to the audience,

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a large number of stakeholders, both internally and externally

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results, in a sustainable and resilient manner, and establishing clear priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to improve own work by constant learning, following and adapting to technical innovation

  • Demonstrate proactivity

  • Demonstrated ability to design innovative and creative solutions to complex problems

  • Excellent command of English, both oral and written

  • Fluent in French


The company is seeking to recruit at a full time position a Media and Communications Senior Officer. The company offers you an interim period which may eventually lead to a fixed contract. This is a challenging position which will be rewarded with a competitive and attractive package.
