Supervise and develop forwarders performances in compliance with regulations, company’s guidelines and procedures.

As Transport & Trade Specialist, you will supports the business to ensure goods are shipped whilst meeting quality, legal and costs parameters. You will develop, maintain and improve transport processes to optimize inbound and/or outbound product and material deliveries.

Job description

Process Development
  • Supports the selection process of forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Collaborates with the warehouse team or 3PL (third-party logistics provider) to verify that all relevant processes for unloading/loading are in place, controlled and documented.
  • Helps to ensure continuous review and improvement. 
Service Providers
  • Works closely with transport service providers and customs brokers to assure efficient and effective execution of processes, assists in obtaining necessary transport permits and codes and prepares proper transportation paperwork and import / export documentation. 
 Performance
  • Verifies the accuracy of billing and documentation issued by the forwarders (KPIs, costs, etc.) and prepares transportation performances reporting  
  • Planning. Utilizes various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning and scheduling. Customs and trade applications 
Trade and Transportation operations
  • Supervises forwarders daily performance and cost, acting to ensure respect of associated KPIs.
  • Controls and monitors system interfaces with forwarders and supervise all transportation related plans and processes.
  • Responsible for issues resolutions with the forwarders including service quality, claims (forwarder) etc.
  • Ensures that the import, inbound, outbound and export documentation is properly managed and resolves operational issues.  
 Data management
  • Supports the development and implementation of improved processes and systems and maintains master data.
Collaboration
Develops an effective relation with forwarders, internal and external stakeholders (e.g. 3PL, customs brokers, etc.).

Profile

Passionate about transport, trade and warehouse management or related logistics fields, studies or experience in the field are a plus.
Motivated to invest in yourself and further expand your knowledge, you are very persistent.
Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with an entrepreneurial spirit that brings people together.
Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong focus on optimization, efficiency and process improvements.
Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency.
