Solar Design Engineer - Specialization Medium Voltage

ENGIE Solutions is looking for a Solar Design Engineer - Specialization Medium Voltage for the Roeselare site. Are you an industrial engineer or do you have experience in electricity (medium and low voltage installations)? Are you at home in the photovoltaic sector? Then keep reading!

What exactly does this job involve?

• during the pre-project, you will support the Business Developer in the sale of PV projects, both on rooftop and ground-mounted projects
• based on a thorough study of the available information you will design and dimension the AC portion of the PV installations, independently consulting with specialized subcontractors as needed
• Cos Phi control, transformer sizing, cable calculations, SLDs, battery storage,… will be part of your role
• using the expertise gained, you will support Purchasing in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors
• thanks to your pragmatic approach and ‘hands on’ mentality, you support the Project Manager in the field during the project implementation. In this context, you will participate in site meetings where necessary, and you will have contacts with the site management and the customer

• industrial engineer level by training or experience in the sector
• experience with medium and low voltage installations is necessary. Knowledge of the photovoltaic sector is a plus
• familiar with standards & regulations from AREI, NEN1010, Synergrid, C10/C11
• market & product knowledge of switchgear, protections, cables, both low and medium voltage
• be able to prepare cable calculations and electrical studies independently. Creation of SLDs and multi-wire schematics
• your interest in technical evolution in this rapidly evolving market and your pragmatic insight in combination with your team spirit mean you are a valued and indispensable member of our enthusiastic team
• you have a driving license
• you have a working knowledge of the following languages: Dutch, English and French
