Job description

The Simulation Engineer reports to the head Computational Driven R&D team in charge of the leverage of computational science within Research & Development of Total Refinery & Chemicals Branch.

Job overview and benefits :
The Simulation Engineer is in charge of technical support to the R&D engineers in charge of polymers development. She/he shares expertise and contribute to the development of new simulation tools and methodologies for polymer processing.

Responsibilities & Duties :

Implement new simulation tools & methodologies/techniques within the team ( analysis, post treatment,…).

Provide technical support in CFD simulation to R&D engineers by developing new models.

Coordinate polymer processing simulation training sessions.

Exchange with customers (softwares, maintenance,..) following contractual rules.

Be an active research scientists by representing Total through the publication of peer-reviewed papers in international top-tier journals and by participating in major international conferences.


PhD / Significant experience in Mechanical or Chemical/Materials Engineering with a good knowledge of CFD simulation for polymer processing

Good communication & listening skills

Skills in transversal management

Good knowledge in coding and data treatment

Expert in CFD simulation tools (OpenFOAM, Ansys, Comsol, …)

Fluent English is required, French is a plus.

Experience in polymers processing is a plus.
