Senior Relationship Manager

International Wholesale & Retail Banking operating in more than 40 countries

Job description

The responsibilities will be the following:

  • Managing and further develop a diverse portfolio of corporate clients
  • Building up a new portfolio of clients that are active in the Energy Transition in close co-operation with colleagues based in Europe
  • Acting as a sector specialist and thought leader and be able to use your innovation skills to be part of the sustainable transformation of the Energy Transition sector
  • Originating and coordinating client focused efforts on behalf of the bank for top tier client relationships and promote/push development of sector specific solutions
  • Understanding the key topics for our clients' decision-makers, identify their challenges and convert those into opportunities for the bank
  • Building coalitions with both stakeholders and clients in your sector and ecosystem to engage on mutual future challenges to grow a better world together and make an impact. Feel comfortable to act on C-level
  • Maintaining contacts with all stakeholders, which may require (international) travel


To be eligible for this role, you should demonstrate:

Master's degree, preferably in economics or law

10 years or more experience in wholesale banking

Strategic relationship development skills and experience with(multi)national corporations and larger (investment) companies

Creative and complex problem solver that knows to lead and deliver the bank's offerings, including knowledge

Excellent credit skills for analyzing financial information, with deep understanding of lending products and familiar with legal aspects and loan documentation

Broad product/market knowledge (access to clients, prospects and their decision makers) of our focus sectors whereby knowledge of the Belgian energy sector is an advantage

A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills are essential

Used to work in an international and dynamic environment

Excellent verbal and written communication in Flemish, French & English

A pro-active mind-set on managing risk, both credit- and non-financial risks and regulatory requirements

Resilient under pressure

Customer focus, complex problem solving skills & eagerness as well as being an excellent innovator, communicator, relationship builder, strategic thinker and a team player with a strong customer focus

You take responsibility, facilitate and inspire your team members, you actively seek for both internal and external collaboration and you make the difference for the community
