Senior Accountant - Brussels

Our client, an international company active in the engineering sector, is located in the centre of Brussels and is looking to strengthen their team.

Job description

As a Senior Accountant, You will partner with the Finance Manager to manage the General Accounting, You will supervise and support a team of 3 Accountants and will be responsible for the following tasks for different entities of the group:

  • Ensure accounting entries are in the line with local Accounting Standards;
  • Supervise the maintenance of company general ledgers and perform reconciliations as required;
  • Ensure correct and accurate accounting classification of all expenditures and documents;
  • Specific analyses and process review of general ledger accounts;
  • Ensure integrity of the financial system and the same time ensure timely, accurate and meaningful reporting;
  • Accounts payable process supervision with Accountants payments planning, aged accounts;
  • Accounts Receivable follow up and maintenance of processes with Business Support teams (aged accounts, etc.);
  • Calculate and prepare monthly and annual VAT returns (different countries);
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Income Tax return and ad hoc requests;
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports;
  • Prepare the annual BE statutory accounts.

Profile

The qualifications needed as a Senior Accountant are the following:

  • You have bachelor in Accounting or Business Economics;
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar function;
  • You speak perfectly Dutch or French and have a very good knowledge of English;
  • A good knowledge of the MS Office tools (especially Excel);
  • You are focus on procedures and processes;
  • You have good communication skills, ability to challenge and to properly collaborate with key partners.
