Junior Scientific Coordination Officer
Job description
- You are part of a cross-functional and international team where you play a crucial role in supporting the Science & Standards Programme Manager (PM) by coordinating and managing various projects and events, linking a wide range of stakeholders.
- You facilitate the development of standards for methods of analysis and sampling for milk and milk products:
- You are in charge of organizing meetings, preparing and sharing agendas and supporting documents, in conjunction with leadership experts, and relevant partner organizations (ISO)
- You will take on a project management role and coordinating activities and facilitating smooth operations. You support and steer selected projects and events. You coordinate the development of relevant IDF publications, as well as the consultations of the dairy experts on work from other organizations
- You ensure the development of joint IDF/ISO standard for methods of analysis, including the collaboratives studies and that their statistical analyses, is done in a consistent manner according to the IDF/ISO procedures.
- You are in charge of redeveloping and managing the IDF Dairy Laboratories database.
- You monitor activities from relevant international organizations to identify adequate action within IDF in consultation with the relevant Programme Manager.
- You communicate developments on an on-going basis to other IDF staff colleagues, IDF experts and IDF members.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you may provide support to other team members in other fields of work (other standards, safety, nutrition, …),
- You coordinate the IDF technical webinar series.
- You report directly to the Science and Standards Programme Manager.
Profile
- You have a Master’s degree in food science or a related field (biochemistry, microbiology, statistics, technology, ...).
- You speak and write English fluently. Other language(s) can be an asset.
- Your open and humble attitude and excellent communication skills enable you to connect with different stakeholders from various cultures.
- You have great organizational skills. As a flexible and dynamic team player you are able to work in a cross-functional and dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks with the ability of working under pressure.
- Your person is characterized by taking ownership and initiative, which enables you to work autonomously.
