Junior Process Control Engineer (M/F/X)

In Antwerp, TotalEnergies has one of the most efficient integrated platforms for refining and petrochemicals. The site is ideally located in the port of Antwerp for the supply of crude oil and in the heart of the European markets.
As part of the ROIS Team (Refinery Optimization & Information System), the Junior Process Control Engineer will help maintaining the site's control system (€ 100M investment value), cover project expenditure of 0.5 million Euro/year, while coordinating DCS contractors.
Your role:
As a Junior Process Control Engineer, you will be in charge of the following tasks:
* The performance monitoring and optimization of control schemes
* Troubleshooting and rectifying low complexity problems with DCS control schemes and/or computer systems. For more complex problems you will seek the advice from more experienced Process Control Engineers
* Implementing control scheme modifications safely
* Keeping the DCS system in line with cyber security specifications and keeping it up to date on security patches, while running Anti-Virus updates and monitoring the backups
* Interactions with both internal (production, maintenance, management…) clients as with external specialists to identify and resolve all needs
* Improving the reliability and/or efficiency of the DCS systems and computer systems
* Development of new control designs to improve capacity, yields and efficiency in co-operation with his colleague Process Control Engineers
* Providing good documentation on controller design and improvements
* Acquire/establish strong technological expertise both in the field of chemical process technology and automation
* Performing standby duty
Profile
* Engineer degree, or similar by experience of working in the production environment
* Strong petrochemical process knowledge
* 0 - 3 years' experience
* Good understanding of refining/petrochemical economics
* Extensive training in process control, computer and network systems and cyber security is necessary over several years
* You keep yourself up to date with technological developments
* Languages: fluent level of English, with good command of Dutch and/or French
