Consultant/Analyst - Pharma Market Access & Health Economics

Where science meets business

Consultant/Analyst - Pharma Market Access & Health Economics

Are you fascinated by Flanders’ dynamic multidisciplinary ecosystem for medical biotechnology? Do you want to be part of its international network of Pharma and Biotech companies, universities and organizations involved in R&D and business? Do you have a Master or PhD in Science or (Bio-) Engineering, but know the feeling that choosing for one job means closing the door for other opportunities? Does your intellect and curiosity require challenges in multiple disciplines? If so, you may be interested in joining ISMS. We are expanding our services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies and have a vacancy for a Consultant/Analyst - Pharma Market Access &  Health Economics in Turnhout.

Job description

The Consultant will work directly with our customers and provide support in areas where science and business come together, such as health economics, life cycle management and medical communication. If you feel a drive to analyze and communicate complex information and have strong intellectual and interpersonal skills, you may be the person we are looking for.

ISMS is a young and dynamic team of professionals with a wide scale of academic backgrounds. The mission of ISMS is to support the pharmaceutical and biotech industry in bringing innovative therapeutics to the market with a price reflecting its value to patients, physicians and society, a process called Market Access. This requires a wide range of skills, encompassing scientific assessments of therapies, business analysis and modelling, scientific content creation, and strategic consultancy.

We look for people that value working in a small team, with a focus on intellectual and personal growth, in an atmosphere of openness and trust. We aim at stimulating synergies in complementary capabilities of our team, to keep raising the level of added value, innovation and quality of projects beyond what you can achieve individually. Together we embrace a spirit of positivity and pride about the team and our projects, in which constructive and result-focused critical thinking is encouraged. Working at ISMS means working as part of a driven and passionate team that will help you broaden and grow your own intellectual capabilities.

  • You are interested to work in a dynamic working environment.
  • You can work under pressure as customers often demand strict deadlines.
  • You can work in an independent and proactive way.
  • You are flexible in taking on a range of projects and assignments that vary in the level of intensity and complexity.
  • You can work alone, or in close cooperation with your colleagues, depending on the requirements of the project.
  • You bring a young and fresh spirit into the company. You should be able and willing to challenge existing working practices and come up with new ideas on how to approach problems.
  • You are fascinated by the medical sciences and you are interested in developing a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, both in terms of business and technological/scientific background.
  • You combine analytical skills with the ability to think conceptually. You quickly grasp intellectually challenging ideas and are at ease working with complex quantitative data sets.
  • You have a passion for numbers and could bring data ‘to life’. You aim at translating data into ‘real life’ trends, by trying to understand what is really happening beyond the data and by creating functional models.
  • You possess strong communication skills and you can present complex health care related information concisely.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Dutch and English.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
You have obtained a Master’s degree. A sound scientific basis, pharma experience, and/or a PhD degree is an asset.

  • Initially, you will support Consultants who work directly with customers. This will allow you to become familiar with the characteristics of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry and our customers’ needs. You will gain responsibility for own projects as soon as possible and assist in developing business through personal contacts with customers.
Career perspectives
  • You will rapidly become familiar with the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
  • You will have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities within the company, and to work in an autonomous way with our customers as quickly as possible.
  • You will be coached carefully to support your development process and to avoid creating a situation in which you must handle responsibilities you are not prepared for.
