The department IS Marketing & Sales Belux is looking for a Cybersecurity Officer.

The Cybersecurity Officer intervenes in security-related aspects of projects or assignments related to IS Security risk inventory and risk mitigation activities. He/she must always take into account the customer's context and draw the connection between the information system and the core business.

Job description

Your mission

  • you report hierarchically directly to the Chief Information Officer of Marketing & Sales Belux and functionally to the Chief Information Security Officer of BeNeLux and as such represent the Marketing & Sales Belux on cybersecurity matters
  • you steer and/or perform the cybersecurity activities within Marketing & Sales Belux and participate to the BCSCC (Benelux Cyber Security Coordination Committee)
  • you assure compliance with Group and Business Unit cybersecurity policies, standards and propagate ditto services
  • you optimise cybersecurity management processes through implementation of the Business Unit cybersecurity management framework within Marketing & Sales Belux
  • you raise business and IS stakeholder awareness on cybersecurity threats
  • you ensure the proper functioning of identity and access management processes dealing with the authorisation and privilege attribution of cyber & information assets and with the periodic review thereof
  • you ensure that the Marketing & Sales cyber & information assets are adequately monitored, in order to detect as early as possible any accidental or adversarial threats
  • you define and assure implementation of a cybersecurity incident management process and procedures within Marketing & Sales Belux, thereby assuring that all stakeholders (including employees, contractors and 3rdparties) know how to report a cybersecurity incident
  • you ensure that cybersecurity incident management procedures and contacts are integrated in the Marketing & Sales Belux crisis management procedures. And in this context, you ensure testing and reporting of the DRP’s (Disaster Recovery Plans) in support of the Business Continuity Plans, together with the other stakeholders (including Health & Safety and IS)
  • you document, manage and report all identified cybersecurity risks, all significant cybersecurity incidents and any other requested cybersecurity KPI to the Chief Information Security Officer of BeNeLux
  • you report any identified cybersecurity vulnerabilities or exposures that may affect the entire Business Unit or Group to the Chief Information Security Officer of BeNeLux
  • you define, deploy and monitor a yearly cybersecurity improvement programme, aiming at improving the Marketing & Sales cybersecurity maturity level, in line with the organisation’s risk appetite, taking into account Business Unit and Group priorities, co-responsible, together with senior business management, for the budgeting
  • you verify that cybersecurity risk assessments are conducted in the context of all digital-related projects. This verification includes the quality of the assessment itself, establishment of business cybersecurity risk ownership, proper implementation of the mitigating controls, the formal residual acceptance by the owner, and the documentation thereof in a central register


  • qualified to degree level in a relevant IT area
  • optional: recognised certification in IT security (e.g. CISM – Certified Information Security Manager)
  • optional: chartered membership of a recognised professional body, e.g. ISACA
  • preferably with an IT service management qualification, e.g. ITIL foundation
  • you have solid IT generalist background including IT infrastructure, network protocols, programming, service delivery management, project management
  • exposure to IT strategy and IT/Enterprise Architecture
  • you have experience of operational service delivery, in an IT service management environment/ITIL framework
  • you have substantial experience in information security governance, IT security and risk management - you have a successful track record of organising an Information Security Management Programme
  • you have experience in designing, documenting and implementing IT Security processes/procedures
  • you worked extensively within a matrix organisation and in an international, multicultural environment
  • you have good knowledge of information security and risk management standards such ISO/IEC 27001, 27002 and 27005, the ISF Standard of Good Practice, COBIT for Information Security
  • you have knowledge of best practices in terms of (web) application programming security (OWASP)
  • you held responsibility for a significant cybersecurity function, preferably during a period of transformational change
  • career history of operating in a similar role
  • you have planned and rolled out all the relevant security processes as required and described for this role
  • you are a proven leader and relationship manager across teams and in a matrix management organisation
  • you have proven cyber security experience of operating in a complex regulated and non-regulated business
  • you have proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • your language skills: bilingual Dutch, French, with thorough knowledge of English
  • you have excellent customer relationship building skills
  • you have excellent cost estimation, budgeting and financial management skills
  • you have good interpersonal skills - ability to deal with people at all levels within the organisation
  • you have communication skills - both verbal and written, presenting, ability to run an awareness & training sessions
