Job description

In this role, you are responsible for promoting clinical and commercial contract manufacturing sales in the regions Belgium, Netherlands and France through new customer acquisition and for developing and growing existing client’s clinical and commercial contract manufacturing sales. Become a key member of a high-performance sales team within an established and respected international company if you are comfortable working within an international, multi-disciplinary team and ready for challenges and committed to short- and long-term professional growth and development.

Main responsibilities in this role: 

  • Develop and grow the clinical, commercial contract manufacturing sales and business development activities
  • Develop new business opportunities and demonstrate active customer interaction
  • Identify and qualify prospective companies within the territory
  • Call on biotech and pharmaceutical companies and regularly re-contact leads
  • Build relationships with potential customers and strengthen the relationships with the existing customers
  • Identify and qualify prospective customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and France
  • Support market intelligence, evaluation reports, recommendation
  • Create and cultivate the lead database and develop active relationships to relevant consultants
  • Participate in roadshows, conferences and other marketing activities related to business development
  • Understand the manufacturing and scientific support needs of these companies and use the opportunity to present our services to the customers
  • Negotiate CDAs and Service Agreements in a  internal multidisciplinary team with clients for clinical and commercial products
  • Proactively develop and lead strategic account-planning activities for individual key accounts
  • Proactively and reactively assess customer needs and develop solutions within the company to respond to these needs by coordinating internal resources and involving company personnel
  • Prepare regular reports, such as monthly reports, account plans, and respond to marketing information requests


  • Bachelor’s degree preferably with an additional MBA in an applied science or engineering field
  • At least 3 years of business development experience in clinical/commercial manufacturing or high-value service business development biotech companies, desirable experience in fill/finish or API-manufacturing or secondary packaging
  • Alternatively, business development experience at CROs, analytical labs, formulation development companies or manufacturing supply companies
  • Experience in lead generation/prospecting and writing of quotations (either as business development person or technical sales person or technical person having been involved in acquisition/onboarding processes)
  • Experience in developing customized proposals for clinical/contract manufacturing and analytical/scientific services
  • Project management experience
  • Proven strong business development and manufacturing background
  • Experience in establishing a network of potential clients
  • Networking experience and public presentations skills, a network in Belgium and the Netherlands is desirable
  • Intercultural awareness and experience in working with international companies with foreign headquarters
  • Ability to analyze commercial data
  • Practical computer/software skills including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Lotus Notes, LinkedIn, Internet use, etc.
  • At least business fluent language skills in English and French, German is a plus
  • Reliable, responsible and detail-oriented problem solver
  • Home office in Belgium or Netherlands and, as alternative, base in the headquarter in Ravensburg, Germany
  • Willingness to travel
