Airline Operations Controller

Job description

As a Airline Operations Controller you will assist the OCC Duty Manager in permanently monitoring the feasibility to perform all planned flights within a 72 hours window before departure taking into consideration airport slots, overflight permits, technical status, aircraft performance, planned maintenance slots, availability (inclusive ACMI), airports’ opening hours and facilities, handling, ATC, weather conditions,…

  • You will actively manage the daily aircraft operations and take the lead in directing all available resources to achieve maximum On Time Performance and maintain the highest operational integrity. .
  • You will Monitor and Advise on major Weather features which effect or are likely to effect Aircraft operations. ( e.g. Precipitation /Icing conditions, visibility, thunderstorms, tropical storms of any kind and other associated weather phenomena.
  • Consider airline cost analysis; operating and indirect costs, fuel, operations, DBC (Denied Boarding Compensation) and passenger welfare.
  • You will be responsible for the Air Traffic analyses and briefings.
  • You will maintain and update all operational systems with all relevant information necessary related to aircrafts movements, schedule information, load Information, re-allocating aircraft.
  • You will be liaison with Government, Airport authorities, handling agents , tour operator, MOC , crewing, commercial scheduling, traffic rights and customer care team.
  • You will assist the Duty Manager as requested.
  • You will represent the Duty Manager during his absence.


  • Higher education  studies or equal by experience
  • 3+ years of experience within aviation industry
  • Experience in a logistics role is a plus
  • Stress resistant, getting the job done, even in difficult  and under pressure
  • A flexible style, adapting behaviors and policies according to the situations
  • Structured and coordinated, and excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to plan & organize and to coordinate between different parties
  • A strong communicator with stakeholders across the business and third parties
  • Eager to learn and a born self-educator
  • This role requires strong business English, French & Dutch (written & spoken).
  • Knowledge of analysis and interpretation of meteorological information
  • Knowledge of interpretation of NOTAM (Notice to airman) information.
  • Detailed knowledge of OFP (Operational Flight plan)
