Function

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible to provide engineering support for a Client
customer. This includes the design of internal projects, support the operation team during
implementation, documentation and assist the support team during troubleshooting, problem solving.
This around the LAN, WAN and WLAN technologies

Main Duties:

. Understand customer requirements (technical's and business)
. Work with the customer to define projects designs (provide recommendations)
. Make the documentation around the configuration, policies, and procedure in order to facilitate
sharing with customer colleagues and support
. Main operational contact between the helpdesk and system's engineer for network related
questions
. Participate in solving technical issues in collaboration with the customer helpdesk
. Escalate technical issues to the different vendors and service providers

Skills:

. Degree in engineering or equivalent training with professional experience (5 years)
. Broad conceptual knowledge (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Security, VOIP, Windows, Storage, Unix, DB)
. Required Product knowledge :
. Cisco Switching (>10000 ports)/ Routing / Load balancing (ACE)
. Protocol knowledge HSRP, VRF, OSPF,EIGRP, RSTP
. Firewall CheckPoint/Cisco FWSM/Juniper
. Strong analytical thinking and procedure
. Experience with network issue debugging through knowledge of network analysis tools (Sniffer,
Wireshark, port monitoring, ...)
. Certifications Cisco is a plus
. High level of proactivity and commitment
. Good verbal (Dutch/English) and written mode of expression (English)
