You will be imagining user experiences, researching novel technologies and contribute to development of communication applications that stage rich audiovisual conversation environments. Real time HD-video communication and 3D virtual environments constitute the technological roots of our team.
Profiel
Technical background and experience:
.Masters degree in telecommunications or computer science
.Working experiences in media, 3D or web applications research including active development of demonstrators in a combined role of expert and coach; and/or a PhD in this area.
.Strong affinity with advanced media applications technology and usage. Innovative and open mind. Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
.Sound software development experience. Familiar with standard Internet (TCP/IP) and web technologies (HTTP, HTML/XML, ...) and state-of-the-art application technologies like Rich Internet Applications (e.g. AJAX) and Flash/Flex
.Notions of GUI and interaction design
Solid experience in at least one of the following domains of
.Multimedia standards, e.g. MPEG-7 and MPEG-21, SMIL and EMMA, streaming media standards
.Semantic web, ontologies, rule engines
.Media processing and video content analysis technologies (image analysis and segmentation, metadata extraction), 3D rendering.
.Interaction design modelling methodologies
.Virtual worlds and 3D gaming environment
.Multimedia communication applications
.Can express him/herself fluently in English, both verbally and in writing

.Active in prototype design & development and develops client & server software for the demonstrations of new application concepts
.Follows up application trends: New client software technologies, emerging Internet applications, HCI and 3D technologies, new end-user devices (web pads, multimedia peripherals, home networks, game consoles), software development environments and service platform capabilities. You will continuously expand detailed technical knowledge of these technologies. You will identify and explore novel technology domains relevant for application research
