IKO Insulations BV in Klundert (Moerdijk The Netherlands), produces high performance rigid thermal PIR insulation and is part of the international operating IKO Group with a European head office in Antwerp.
IKO Insulations has developed a "state of the art production technology". The newest generation of PIR insulation materials is produced for applications in roofs, walls and floors for the European market. To meet the increasing demand for PIR insulation, the group is investing in an expansion of the production capacity by building a new production site in France (Combronde near Clermont-Ferrand). Research and Development Manager

In collaboration with the plant managers in the Netherlands and France you will reinforce the team in both countries. You are responsible for:
• Optimizing recipes and process parameters, keeping in mind the cost control and maintaining the quality. Capturing raw material specifications.
• Improving efficiency in the product composition, in which the interaction between chemistry and production process is crucial.
• Establishing trials in close cooperation with suppliers with a direct control of the laboratories at both production sites.
• Implementing newly developed materials and processes at production scale.
• Drawing up specifications for the products and their modifications, and translating this to and from sales & product management.
• Monitoring the technical approvals and the contacts with relevant national technical agencies.
• Making advisory reports for the board on the evolution of technology and product.
• Representing IKO Insulations in trade organizations and international technical industry forums.
• Reporting to the managing director of IKO Insulations.
Profil
You have a degree in engineering, preferably in polymer chemistry or chemical engineering. You have several years of experience in a production environment and in adjusting chemical processes to machines. Experience with (rigid) thermal technology and/or polyurethane chemistry is an advantage.
You are a team player who knows how to bridge the gap between R&D, laboratories, production, the customer and management. You have strong communication skills. You have a pragmatic, analytical and innovative spirit, with a focus on improving quality and reducing costs. You like working in projects. Given the context in which you work within the IKO-group, multilingualism (Dutch French English) in speaking and writing is essential.
